During our adventures, I know many of you have become fans of the remarkable Peter “Golden Boy” Barker. Finding the Atlantic crossing too tame, he immediately signed up for the far more perilous trip past Cape Horn, across the notorious Drake Passage to Antarctica.
But I’m delighted to announce that Peter is about to embark on an adventure much more rewarding and long lasting, for on 30 December on the arrival of his girlfriend Maggie from the USA, Peter asked for her hand in marriage. Much to everyone’s relief, Maggie accepted. So it looks like a proper Texan wedding later this year. Maggie will not only be the perfect wife for Peter but she will be the perfect daughter-in-law for us. The DS and I are thrilled.
